Style Snippet: Cosy, Dull Days

Sunday, 14 February 2016
You may have saw me moaning on Twitter because I'd got all ready to take outfit photos and then it started raining, so I was going to just leave it but then the lovely Shannon Palmer suggested I do a rainy day look, so here it is!!

Jumper: Charity Shop
Shorts: Topshop
Lip Combo: MAC Palmful and Tanya Burr Lipgloss in Afternoon Tea
Ring: Avon
Bracelet: From the lovely Federica (Blog)

On dull, rainy days I just can't be bothered to wear jeans and tight clothes because they just stick to you and it isn't comfy, so I put together this comfy look with a bit of added glam.

I wore my turtle neck jumper, which I've wore so many times on my blog but hey, outfit repeating is real life! Anyway, it's a lovely, thick knit that keeps me nice and warm. I just rolled the sleeves up to make it a bit different and tucked the front into the shorts. I think the tuck just makes it a bit more slouchy but also more flattering because you're not swamped in fabric. I also really like turtle necks because they just look a bit more chic and put together. I went for the 'tuck' look that I've been seeing everywhere on instagram; basically you tuck your hair into the jumper. It's actually such a time saver because I didnt have to straighten my hair. I'm trying to grow my hair out for the summer so the less heat the better and this look is perfect because you dont even have to tie your hair up.

Then I wore these lovely crochet, velvet shorts from Toyshop. I originally got them for a night out but I think they look perfect for an everyday look. They are full of texture because of the contrasting velvet and crochet but it isn't too in your face because they are black. I love how easy they are to throw on and they look so put together because of all of the detail. They are quite short so I do prefer wearing them with tights but that just adds to the cosy feel.

For accessories I went for Gold, which I usually dont. But Federica got me this lovely bracelet for Christmas and my nan got me this ring so I had to!! They go so well together and I really think they compliment the vibe of this outfit!!

Whats you go to look for when it's rainy and dull but you still need to look put together?

  5. Love love love this look, Soph! You look so cosy yet sophisticated in it :) especially the oversized knit and THAT BRACELET! Also the shorts are just screaming to me too, love anything lace-like and crochet (???) Rainy day outfits for me are usually oversized jumper + jeans bc I'll be splashing around in my boots outdoors probably running some boring errands haha!

  8. Sophie I'm so glad you like the bracelet! Anyway this look is so far one of my favorite one! I always wear jeans, like seriously everyday! I'm definitely going to take some inspirations. That turtle neck jumper seems so soft and comfy, I love it! By the way, outfit repeating is a life saver, I can't actually buy new things every single month! Ahaha! Great post as always! xx

The cozy knit is beyond cute and goes perfect with those amazing crochet velvety shorts. Love how you transitioned them from a night out part of an outfit into an everyday wear <3 Pretty accessories!
