18th Birthday Snippet: A Trip To York

Thursday, 29 October 2015
You may know if you follow me on instagram or twitter (shameless plug) that it was my birthday on Wednesday, I turned 18 and had a lovely stay n York. I thought I'd round the trip up in photos and then Sundays post will be the outfits I wore and a little haul of the few things I bought while shopping/was gifted.

So I went to York with Lukke, my boyfriend, and Grace, my best friend. They are the best people to me and always are so lovely, so there's no one else I would've took. Obviously it was my birthday so I had to have lots of photos sitting in the same position, awkwardly smiling, ahha! I want to have more memories documented so taking a lot of photos has been a part of that.
Is anyone else too small to see over bridges? I just stick my phone over.

York is where I want to go to uni, so I decided to visit here for my birthday because recently I've fell in love. If you've never been I really recommend it because it's absolutely stunning, with all the old architecture and the beautiful minister. There's also so much to do, from museums and galleries and fab shopping.
On the first night, we wondered around the Shambles and did a little bit of shopping. The shambles is a beautifully kept, 14th century street that is just near the minister. It's so cute to walk down, with all the wonky, timber houses and the little shops with Halloween decorations in. The streets smelt like hot butter because at the end of the Shambles there was roasted hazelnuts and then from the trees there were some really cute, hanging lights. Lukke got me some Tulips from a flower stall, they are stunning and Tulips are some of my favourite flowers. We had to be out of the Air BnB for 11 though, so I had to carry them around the next day, trying to keep them safe.

Then on the day of my birthday, I woke up to presents and card, which was lovely! Then once I'd made everyone pose for a bit, we went to The Perky peacock. I'd been looking at it on instagram and was sucked in by the cute plates they used; it's quite small, so I'd recommend going early but the food is amazing. I had porridge and nuts and it filled me right up, the cappuccino was also great and they did that cute heart, froth thing. I thought it was lovely because they had really cool art on the walls, wooden beams and pumpkins on the tables, it was so perfect.

During that day, I had a bit of a walk around the museum gardens, which is right in the centre, next to the river. It's beautiful and looked even better with all the golden leaves; then I did a bit of shopping because it was my birthday and I'm allowed right? Well that's what I told myself ahha!
It rained quite a lot so shopping was the best thing to do, I only picked up 3 things but I've already wore them!

I had the most wonderful birthday and I'd really recommend visiting York because it's my favourite place right now. Hope you enjoyed this, Sophie X

Also thank you for all the lovely birthday wishes, they made my day!!
