Monthly Loves: September

Tuesday, 22 September 2015
So September has been the month of college and tiredness but there has been some perks that I thought I'd share, in the form of favourites.

Favourite Beauty Product Of The Month?
As we go into Autumn, I have been lusting after my Ted Baker red lipstick. It's a perfect, traditional red because it's not too dark just yet, so it gives you that autumn vibe with out going full Charlotte Tilbury Glastonbury, just yet. (Although if I could pull that look off, I'd be all for it).
I think the red is a lovely, brighter red, which helps lighten my pale skin up without washing me out. I find that if I wear a really dark lip, I often look like a ghostly 12 year old going through a phase. (Trust me, I've been there).

Most Worn Clothing Item?

From this post.

From this post.
This is a two in one because all month I've been loving a tartan scarf and plaid shirt combination. I love tartan during the autumn time because it makes me feel so snuggly and warm and it shields my hair from the rain. There's just something so autumnal about a nice, tartan scarf, it takes any outfit into the season, without going full jumpers and knitwear. It's so easy to through on and instantly adds a pop of colour and detail to the typical all black/grey outfit.

Plaid shirts have also been a favourite because they are just so easy to through on. I love wearing them slightly oversized because it's really cosy and effortless but because it's a slightly different style, it looks more put together in a laid back way. Since going back to college, comfort is my main priority and these two have been making me extra cosy and comfortable, especially on the longer days.

Favourite Place?

When I put this category in my favourite, I knew at one point I'd say my bed but I didn't know it would be so soon. After going back I've been more and more tired and getting home around 4:30/5 everyday has made me so drained and in need of naps. So getting into some comfy PJs and snuggling up with Totoro and Geoffrey has be a perfect end to the days and has made me feel great after such long days. I know I shouldn't nap so often but its really hard when my bed is so cosy. Just start calling me Grandma now.

Song Of The Month?
This isn't a new song but I've fallen in love with it. Alt J Warm Foothills is absolutely stunning. I tend to get a lot more work done when I'm listening to music but I can't listen to my normal things because they are too loud and put me off, so this has been my perfect work song. It's about sex but it's written in such a beautiful way, it makes me feel lovely because you can really tell it's been written by someone so in love and it represents a passionate love, rather than quick flings that are usually sung about. It's really calming because of the synth and then harmonies between the male and female voices, combined with soft whistles; it's just so lovely.

Food Of The Month?
A good, home made, vegetable soup with dumplings. It's been getting so cold, especially with the sea air, in the north, so coming home to a warm bowl of soup and dumplins has been fab. It's so easy to make because you just boil all the veggies, add some stock and dumplings.  I love meals that warm you up and give you that cosy feeling, and this dish just screams autumn nights to me. I can't wait till October so I can start adding a bit of pumpkin and make it extra autumnal.

Favourite Memory?

I'd say my favourite memory this month is just the feeling of autumn starting. I absolutely love the colder weather, being able to wear jumpers and not sweat, cracking out the knitwear and seeing the leaves fall. It's by far my favourite season and seeing it come so quickly has been lovely. I think I'm seeing it with a new pair of eyes because it's inspiring my blog posts so much and it gives me so many ideas because I dress more like me, I can do more things without dying from sweat and I can play around with make-up more because of the different style. It's a great season for me and I feel more comfortable because autumn style represents my personality more, I love cosy jumpers, mittens, embarrassing, animal knitwear, anything orange and autumnal. Its just making me so happy because I can document it all on here and I'll be so much more me.

Hope you have a lovely month and enjoyed this post xx
